ICD-9-CM code changes for 2010
OMSs will have several new and revised ICD-9-CM codes for use beginning October 1, 2009. Those potentially relevant to the specialty are listed below:

Please note there are also several new E codes describing injuries. Remember that while E codes are not mandatory and can never be listed as the primary diagnosis on the claim form they can often be helpful in further explaining how an injury occurred and thus be effective in triggering medical payment.
